Navigate to the Appearance → Customize → Theme Options and inside the Blog Layout choose the best layout for your site. You can change the position of the sidebar, select a grid layout or list layout without sidebar. This layout applies to archive pages.
Inside the Appearance → Customize → Theme Options you can hide items like post author and date.
