Great breakfast with plenty of complex carbohydrates to get you through the morning.
Oats are the best things ever in the morning. The complex carbohydrates keep you feeling full and hold off hunger until lunch.
This is a quick and healthy breakfast bowl that even your mother would approve. Using fresh plain oats is the perfect alternative to the boxed oats found in store-bought “muesli”. The store pre boxed ones are usually, if not always filled with sugar, then soaked in sugar and finally covered in corn syrup. It’s probably not the best stuff to have in the morning.
You can get the plain oats in the bulk section of the grocery store, so scoop up a bag of this delicious stuff. Make sure it’s plain, no sugar added.
Once you have your oats in the bowl, add-in fresh fruit of the season, nice and sliced. Then pour in some non-fat plain yogurt to give the bowl a tangy flavor to compliment the sweetness of the fresh fruit.
Lastly cover with non-fat milk to soften up the oats a bit, and allow them to absorb some of the fresh fruit juices to sweeten them up.
Try this recipe out for a new breakfast routine. Below is the recipe, instruction and a video showing it being made so you can follow along. If you make this recipe. let me know how it turned out. Thanks, Delicious Eric.
